American actress Kathleen grew up in Los Angeles and is the daughter of Jack Smith and actress Abby Dalton. She started an relation with actor Lorenzo Lamas in 1988 after their meeting on the set. The couple marries on 20 january 1989 and their marriage lasts until they divorce in 1993. She married actor Jere Burns in 1997 and their marriage lasts for two years until they divorce in 1999. She's the ex-stepmother of A.J. Lamas, Shayne Lamas and Paton Ashbrook.

She's currently involved in a variety of projects as writer, director and has a flourishing photography business in the Los Angeles. She is director and producer of a yoga video called "Kathleen Kinmont's Restorative Core Yoga" (2012) which she has released. She has contributed at several articles on the topic ''divorce through'' in the Huffington Post in 2012. She made her movie writers debut with writting the story of ''CIA II: Target Alexa'' (1993). 

There's an article written about her in the november 1993 edition of Celebrity Skin Magazine and posed on the cover of Celebrity Sleuth Magazine (june 1995 edition).

She made her action movie debut as model alongside Lee Van Cleef and Timothy Van Patten in de action TV Series ''The Master'' (1984).

She plays a winner girl in this story where present day gladiators are competing at the wild sports extravaganza of Supercross in ''Winners Take All'' (1987). This movie goes about the rivalry and camaraderie of 'Bad' Billy Robinson (played by Robert Krantz) and Rick Melon (played by Don Michael Paul), who showing the thrill of spectacular riding at high stakes tournaments.

She plays Cindy in this story about Carla (played by Linda Blair) who is devastated when her friend is kidnapped by a Mexican cartel in ''Nightforce'' (1987). She passes the border of Mexico during the rescue mission with help of friends.

She plays Phoenix alongside Persis Khambatta, Peggy McIntaggart, Sheila Howard and Nina Jaffe in this story where an group of women battle to rescue the world in a post-apocalyptic wasteland in ''Phoenix the Warrior'' (1988).

Danny accepts his offer to train under him because he's very ambitious to become world champion. He's fully prepared after a intense training period and is ready to participate at the kickboxing world championships in Las Vegas. He will fight against brutal champion Stevie (played by Frank Rivera), who has dethroned Nick as champion in the past. Danny tries to defeat Stevie, while Nick gets some bad memories again of his lost title match.

She plays Alexa who is captured by the CIA during a terror attack attempt of on a government organization in ''CIA Code Name: Alexa'' (1992). One of the terrorists has swallowed a microchip, just before he was shot dead by CIA agent Mark Graver (played by Lorenzo Lamas), during the attack. The other members of the terrorists who are led by Victor Mahler (played by Alex Cord) try to regain the microchip again by stealing the corpse during the church service. The CIA convinced Alexa to work for them and train her as cold blood female fight machine who is labeled with a microship. She gets the assignment to stop the terrorist organization of Viktor with help of Mark.

She plays female fighter Heather and Finn Carter plays the lead role as Sunny Justice next to Catherine Hickland, Kathleen Kinmont, Patricia Tallman and Michelle McCormick in ''Sweat Justice'' (1992). Suzanne (played by Cheryl Paris) is the mayor of a small town, who gives bribes to Billy Joe Rivas (played by Frank Gorshin). His chemical company has permission to deposit toxic garbage illegally in an old mine. He dumps toxic wastes which threatens the nearby water purification unit. She wants to cancel their agreement, after discovering the toxic pollution. She asks help of her ex-husband Steve Colton (played by Marc Singer), who is also police officer, but his help comes to late because she was found dead. Martial arts expert Sunny is the sister of Suzanne who takes revenge against the killers with help of her female martial arts squad.

She plays Cheyenne Phillips alongside Lorenzo Lamas who plays the lead role as bountyhunter Reno Raines in the action TV Series ''Renegade'' (1992 - 1997).

She plays Alexa again who is captured during an undercover operation to infiltrate in the terrorists organization in ''CIA II: Target Alexa'' (1993). CIA agent Mark Graver (played by Lorenzo Lamas) is searching for Alexa because he needs her to find the stolen chip. Mark must find the key to unlock her conviction, because she is too tough to turn on her own. They go together on a journey, to bring back the stolen chip from the terrorists.

She plays Angela in this story about ruthless killer Cody (played by Gary Hudson) who escapes from prison, to kill Texas Ranger Louis Gentry (played by Sam Jones), the man who is responsible for his sentence in ''Texas Payback'' (1995). He goes on an explosive journey in order to pay the ultimate price to his tormentor with a slow tortuous death.

She plays Nicole Landon in this story where upcoming advertising executive Matt (played by John Anthony Denison) on the brink is of a major ad promotion contract with a jeans company in ''The Corporate Ladder'' (1997). The in charge attitude and imagination of his new assistant Nicole wins the deal for him. Nicole has more than her career in mind: she wants Mark who is married to the lovely Susan Taylor (played by Talisa Soto), who also pregnant is from him. The lust of Matt wins by beginning an affair with Nicole and this relationship can be deadly for him. Then there is also his seedy associate/rival Jay Williams (played by Ben Cross) who coerces women to have sex with him in order to advance their careers. She plays Dion in one episode of the action TV series ''Mortal Kombat: Conquest'' (1999) and plays Agent Madison in one episode of the action TV series ''V.I.P.'' (2001).
